As
a child, I always loved being outdoors, working with my parents or grandparents.
I
knew before I was a teenager that this was going to be my career.
I
can remember growing up watching my grandfather, Richard Shelton,
plow
his corn,
plant
seeds, & reap his harvest.
I
can also remember my grandmother, Beulah Shelton, working right with him,
planting tomato plants and such by the "signs".
Gosh,
just seems like yesterday. They both are gone now, leaving behind
many
"old
timey hints" to make plants grow better, and tips on what to use to keep
deer
and raccoons out of the garden.
I
began thinking of making the best of my endeavors.
I
chose North Carolina State University to make it happen.
I
studied horticulture, which is where my business name, Hortscapes, oriented
from.
A
combination of Horticulture and Landscaping, that was the plan.
I
wanted to work with individuals to make their homes appear eye-catching
and work with commercial property as well.
Throughout
my college experience, it has taught me many ways to create the ideal "scape"
that will make each individual home look the best it can.
I
look forward to working with anyone who has the need and desire to create
a breathtaking view for both themselves and others to adore.
Working
with individuals, listening to their ideas and putting together the
perfect
plan means everything to me.
My
love and adoration for God, the soil and land that he gave us and planting
new crops is just another way I am sure he will help me
succeed
in a trustworthy business.
I
would like to thank my parents, Jimmy & Wendy Shelton for their confidence
in me to finish my degree and my brother Alex Shelton for being beside
me all the way!
